Terms & Conditions
1. Services Provided
MFC provides financial education, counseling, coaching, strategy development, and ongoing support designed to help clients better understand and manage their financial circumstances.
Services may include assistance related to budgeting, debt management strategies, credit education, student-loan education, financial goal setting, and other personal financial matters offered by MFC.
MFC may also provide financial education and counseling related to disability-related financial circumstances, including changes in income, household budgeting, accessibility-related expenses, and financial considerations associated with employment or life transitions.
MFC serves individuals who are 18 years of age or older.
2. Scope of Services and Professional Limitations
MFC does not provide legal advice, tax advice, investment advice, credit-repair services, or other services requiring professional licensing that MFC does not hold.
MFC does not determine eligibility for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), or other government benefits; represent clients before government agencies; or guarantee approval for any public or private benefit or program.
When a client's circumstances require legal, tax, investment, benefits, credit-repair, or other specialized professional services, the client may be encouraged to consult an appropriately qualified professional.
3. No Guarantee of Financial Results
MFC provides education, strategies, recommendations, and support based on each client's circumstances and the information available to MFC.
MFC does not guarantee any particular financial outcome, including a specific credit-score increase, loan or credit approval, elimination or reduction of debt by a particular amount or date, approval for government benefits or financial programs, particular savings or financial gains, or any other specific financial result.
Results depend on factors outside MFC's control, including the client's circumstances and actions and the decisions, policies, and actions of third parties.
4. Client Responsibility
Clients are responsible for providing information that is complete and accurate to the best of their knowledge.
MFC's recommendations and strategies are based on the information provided by the client. Incomplete, inaccurate, or omitted information may affect the usefulness or appropriateness of MFC's recommendations.
MFC may provide recommendations, education, and strategies, but financial decisions remain the client's responsibility. Clients determine whether and how to act upon information or recommendations provided by MFC.
5. Third-Party Decisions and Services
MFC does not control and is not responsible for the decisions, actions, processing times, policies, errors, approvals, denials, or other conduct of third parties, including creditors, lenders, credit reporting agencies, student-loan servicers, financial institutions, government agencies, or other outside organizations.
6. Appointment Cancellation and Rescheduling
Clients should cancel or reschedule appointments at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time.
For a one-time paid appointment canceled at least 24 hours in advance, the client may choose to reschedule or receive a full refund.
If a paid appointment is canceled with less than 24 hours' notice, the payment is nonrefundable; however, the client may reschedule the appointment.
7. No-Shows
For a paid appointment, a client who fails to attend without canceling may be provided one courtesy reschedule. The original payment remains nonrefundable.
If the client also fails to attend the courtesy rescheduled appointment, the payment is forfeited. No refund or additional courtesy reschedule will be provided, and a new appointment will require a new booking and payment.
For a Free Financial Strategy Session, MFC may provide one courtesy reschedule following a no-show. A client who fails to attend the courtesy rescheduled consultation will no longer be eligible to schedule another free consultation and must select a paid service if they wish to continue working with MFC.
8. Late Arrivals
MFC provides a five-minute grace period for scheduled appointments.
A client who joins within the five-minute grace period may receive the remainder of the scheduled appointment. The appointment will still end at its originally scheduled ending time.
If the client has not joined within five minutes of the scheduled start time, the appointment may be considered a no-show and the applicable no-show policy will apply.
Extending an appointment because of a client's late arrival is at MFC's discretion and is not guaranteed.
9. Cancellations by MFC
If MFC must cancel a one-time paid appointment, the client may choose to:
-
Reschedule the appointment at no additional charge; or
-
Receive a full refund for that appointment.
If an appointment provided through an active subscription must be canceled by MFC, the appointment may be rescheduled at no additional charge during the applicable subscription period. Cancellation of one subscription appointment by MFC does not automatically entitle the client to a refund of the entire subscription payment.
10. Technology Problems
MFC services are provided virtually, and clients are responsible for maintaining reasonable access to the internet, compatible technology, and the meeting information necessary to participate.
If an appointment cannot reasonably proceed because of a technology problem on MFC's side, a one-time paid client may reschedule at no additional charge or request a full refund for that appointment.
For an active subscription, an appointment disrupted by an MFC technology problem may be rescheduled at no additional charge during the active subscription period.
Technology problems originating on the client's side do not automatically qualify as an MFC cancellation and may be handled under the applicable cancellation, rescheduling, or courtesy policies.
11. Ongoing Coaching Subscription
MFC's ongoing coaching subscription is billed in 30-day periods and currently includes one coaching sessions during each paid 30-day period.
Sessions must be used during the applicable billing period. Unused sessions do not roll over into subsequent billing periods.
Subscriptions automatically renew every 30 days unless canceled before the next renewal is processed.
Once an automatic renewal payment has been processed, that payment is nonrefundable. A client may cancel future automatic renewals at any time and continue using the services included in the current subscription through the remainder of the paid 30-day period.
Cancellation does not retroactively refund a renewal that has already been processed.
12. Between-Session Subscription Support
Active subscription clients may use email or text messaging for brief questions between scheduled sessions.
MFC will generally respond within 24 hours on business days. For purposes of this policy, business days are Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays and announced MFC closures.
Between-session communication is not intended to provide unlimited or on-demand consulting.
13. Session Recording
With the client's prior consent, MFC may record virtual sessions for quality assurance, service improvement, and accurate follow-up.
Clients may decline recording without losing access to MFC services.
Recordings will generally be retained for no longer than 30 days and then deleted, unless a longer retention period is required by applicable law or another arrangement has been specifically agreed upon.
Consent to recording for these purposes does not authorize MFC to use the recording for advertising, testimonials, social media, public distribution, or other marketing purposes.
14. Client Information and Sensitive Data
Clients should not provide unnecessary highly sensitive information through the MFC website, booking forms, email, text messages, or ordinary communications.
Clients should not provide passwords, PINs, login credentials, complete Social Security numbers, or complete bank or payment-card account numbers unless MFC has specifically identified a legitimate need and an appropriate secure method for providing the information.
15. Client Documents
Clients may provide financial documents reasonably necessary for MFC to perform the requested service, such as budgets, bills, credit reports, student-loan statements, or collection notices.
Clients should redact unnecessary sensitive information before submitting documents, including Social Security numbers, complete account or card numbers, passwords, PINs, and login credentials.
Client documents will be retained only as long as reasonably necessary to provide services and satisfy legitimate business or legal recordkeeping requirements. Information that is no longer required will be handled in accordance with MFC's applicable privacy and record-retention practices.
16. Privacy and Confidentiality
MFC does not sell clients' personal or financial information.
Client information may be disclosed when the client authorizes disclosure, when reasonably necessary for service providers supporting MFC's operations or services, or when disclosure is required or permitted by applicable law.
Additional information concerning the collection, use, storage, and protection of personal information is addressed in MFC's Privacy Policy and Confidentiality Policy.
17. Service and Marketing Communications
Clients who book or purchase MFC services may receive communications reasonably necessary to provide those services, including appointment confirmations and reminders, scheduling or rescheduling information, receipts, service-related follow-up, and important operational notices.
Marketing and promotional communications are separate. Booking an appointment or purchasing an MFC service does not automatically enroll a client in promotional email or text marketing. Where MFC offers marketing communications, clients will be provided an appropriate opportunity to consent separately.
18. Testimonials and Client Stories
Acceptance of these Terms does not grant MFC permission to use a client's name, image, testimonial, financial circumstances, disability-related information, or other identifiable personal story for marketing purposes.
MFC will obtain separate permission before using identifiable client information in testimonials, advertising, social media, or other promotional materials.
19. MFC Materials and Intellectual Property
Worksheets, guides, templates, educational materials, action plans, and other original resources created and provided by MFC remain the intellectual property of MFC unless otherwise stated.
Clients may use materials provided to them for their personal, noncommercial use.
MFC materials may not be sold, republished, publicly distributed, commercially reproduced, or represented as another person's work without MFC's permission.
A client's personal and financial information remains the client's information.
20. Website Information
Information available publicly on the MFC website is provided for general educational and informational purposes.
Reading website content does not create a client relationship and does not constitute individualized financial counseling, legal advice, tax advice, investment advice, credit-repair services, or a recommendation tailored to an individual's circumstances.
21. Emergencies and Urgent Matters
MFC is not an emergency or crisis-response service.
Clients should not rely upon email, text messages, booking forms, subscription support, or other MFC communications for emergency or time-sensitive crisis assistance.
Individuals requiring immediate assistance should contact the appropriate emergency, government, legal, financial, or community resource for their circumstances.
22. Prices and Changes to Services
The price applicable to a one-time service is the price presented when the client books and purchases that service.
MFC may change future prices, service offerings, or subscription features.
If the price of an existing subscription changes, MFC will provide advance notice before the new price applies to a future renewal, giving the client an opportunity to cancel before being charged the new amount.
23. Ending or Refusing Services
MFC reserves the right to refuse, discontinue, or terminate services for legitimate business or safety reasons, including abusive or threatening conduct, harassment, suspected fraud, repeated violation of scheduling or business policies, misuse of services, or other conduct that makes continuation of the professional relationship unreasonable.
Any refund owed following termination by MFC will be determined based on the service purchased, services already provided, the reason for termination, these Terms, and applicable law.
24. Billing Concerns
Clients who believe a billing error or other payment problem has occurred are encouraged to contact MFC promptly so that MFC has a reasonable opportunity to investigate and attempt to resolve the concern.
Nothing in these Terms eliminates rights or remedies a client may have under applicable law or through a financial institution or payment-card issuer.
25. Changes to These Terms
MFC may update these Terms & Conditions as its services and business practices evolve.
The current version will be posted on the MFC website with an updated effective date.
When a material change affects an existing subscription service, MFC will provide reasonable notice before the change takes effect. Continued use or renewal of the subscription following the effective date may constitute acceptance of the updated Terms, subject to applicable law.
26. Informal Resolution of Disputes
If a disagreement arises between a client and MFC, both parties are encouraged to make a good-faith effort to resolve the matter directly before pursuing formal remedies.
Nothing in this provision eliminates rights or remedies available to either party under applicable law.
27. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, subject to any consumer-protection or other rights that cannot legally be waived or limited.
28. Acceptance of Terms
Clients booking or purchasing MFC services may be required to affirmatively acknowledge that they have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions and other applicable MFC policies before completing a booking or purchase.
